H9 Technical Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Manager in Rotherham area.Role & Responsibilities

The Plant Manager leads the O&M business and is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of the power station’s performance. This includes all activities required to ensure that the station operates at high availability and to the highest of safety standards whilst delivering strong commercial results. The Plant Manager is also the key interface to the plant owners and their representatives and reports to the O&M Director. Supporting the maintenance team, giving guidance on repair techniques, contractor selection, priorities, training, developing, and evaluating the performance of staff.
• Maximise plant performance in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
• Direct the activities of the plant staff, liaising with and coordinating the activities of the Operations Manager and the Maintenance Manager.
• Act as the main point of contact with the customer, ensuring that information is communicated effectively in accordance with company guidelines.
• Set goals and objectives for the plant in terms of performance, financial, environmental, health and safety and personnel matters.
• Implement change as appropriate with an eye on continuous improvement to optimise operational efficiency and maximise cost effectiveness.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports for the O&M Director and board of directors ensuring all KPIs are achieved.
• Work with the Operations & Maintenance Managers to anticipate typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and take appropriate action. Troubleshoot equipment and assist in diagnosing problem areas.
• Ensure the plant operates within the strict boundaries set by the environmental permit and manage the relationship with the Environment Agency.
• Lead all aspects of staff management, including recruitment, induction, training, employee development and staff retention.
• Ensure all site activities are undertaken in compliance with the company’s quality, environmental and H&S management systems, and procedures.
• Available to be called in during emergency situations and plant breakdowns when necessary.

Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for a Plant Manager who is strong across the various disciplines of the role such as people management, operations, finance, HSSE and compliance and systems. The role requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. You must be suited to a culture, which is entrepreneurial, fast paced, commercially driven, and with very high corporate performance and ethical standards. You need to be comfortable working in a lean structure, with high customer focus, strong ethical and moral standards, and be willing to assume significant personal accountability.
• 5+ years thermal power plant management experience.
• Degree/HND level engineering qualification preferred. HNC minimum.
• Current knowledge of UK legislation relating to the operation of power generation/thermal treatment facilities.
• Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and management of contractual interfaces.
• Able to demonstrate and utilise an extensive knowledge of operational and maintenance management.
• Demonstrate a background of identifying and implementing a methodology of continuous improvement in the workplace.
• Previous power plant mobilisation experience is an advantage.
