The City of Reno is seeking a Planning Assistant to support urban planning initiatives. As a Planning Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our city's growth and development through various planning projects and initiatives. Support and assist the urban planning team in various projects and initiatives.
Conduct research, gather data, and analyze information related to planning projects.
Maintain organized and accurate records of planning documents, reports, and data.
Assist with the preparation of presentations, proposals, and reports for city officials and community stakeholders.
Collaborate with various departments, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of planning efforts.
Attend community meetings and assist with the facilitation of public engagement processes.
Participate in site visits and field inspections to gather information and assess project feasibility.
Stay updated on current planning policies, regulations, and trends to inform decision-making processes.
Provide administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining project budgets.
Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term planning strategies for the city.
Uphold ethical standards and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance job performance.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and innovation.
Represent the city in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by the urban planning team or city management.
