Job Description
Snowy Hydro Limited is seeking a People Services Manager for its Retail division in Melbourne, VIC. This leadership role involves managing the Retail People Services team, enhancing employee experiences, and implementing People Services strategies. Candidates should have HR expertise, leadership experience, and a focus on continuous improvement. The position requires strong relationship-building skills and experience in a centralized HR function within a large organization.
About Snowy:
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
About the position:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our People and Culture team as a People Services Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage our Retail People Services team who are at the forefront of all employee and leadership inquiries. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated leadership experience, HR expertise and is looking to cultivate an environment of excellence and continuous improvement. We are currently undergoing an exciting period of transformation, which you will be joining us at the very beginning of.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leading and managing the Retail People Services team to promote service excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in line with Snowy Hydro’s company values.
• Implementation of the People Services strategy ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals, with a focus on optimising service delivery and enhancing the experience of our workforce when seeking HR guidance.
• Monitoring and evaluating People Services operations to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
• Establishing quality assurance and knowledge management frameworks
• Managing daily operations of the teams, including work allocation, escalation management, and day to day coaching.
• Managing the onboarding and offboarding processes in collaboration with relevant teams to enhance the employee experience and support lifecycle improvements.
• Overseeing people systems and data, collaborating on system use, generating reports, and identifying insights to enhance processes and decision-making.
• Driving continuous improvement across People systems and processes with a focus on efficiency and service quality. Participating as one of the key business leads in future HCM investments.
About you:
• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience working in a centralised HR support function for a large and complex organisation.
• A minimum of 3 years experience leading teams, managing performance and driving results through effective leadership practices.
• Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to support initiatives across various departments.
• Experience managing change would be an advantage.
• The ability to think creatively and generate solutions.
