Penn State University is seeking a Part-Time Sustainable Communities Collaborative Program Coordinator to assist the Program Director in managing partnerships and projects related to sustainability. Responsibilities include program administration, project management, and event coordination. The position requires good communication, organizational skills, and familiarity with community development. The job is located in Pennsylvania, and remote work approval is not guaranteed.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State’s Sustainable Communities Collaborative (SCC) is looking to hire a part-time Program Coordinator. The Sustainable Communities Collaborative is a university-wide program in the Office of Undergraduate Education. SCC facilitates experiential learning partnerships between Penn State classes and local community partners to address community-identified sustainability challenges through an engaged, collaborative effort. Penn State defines sustainability as the simultaneous pursuit of human health and happiness, environmental quality, and economic well-being for current and future generations.
The SCC Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Program Director with all aspects of the program, including recruitment of partners, identification of projects and partner opportunities, preparation of project scoping documents that articulate the scope, deliverables, learning outcomes, timeline and resources required for the project, and management of projects throughout the semester as needed.
Job duties to include:
• Assisting the Director with program administration
• inventory and keep up-to-date project records
• help coordinate community, faculty, and student events and workshops
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:
• good communication skills, especially writing
• familiarity with local governments, community development, and student engagement
• familiarity with Microsoft suite
• good organizational skills
• event management skills a plus20 hours per week
Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is $35.
