Responsibilities
• Perform maintenance duties for City-owned grounds, parks, trails, cemeteries, and recreation facilities.

• Mow, aerate, weed turf, clean restrooms, pick up trash, rake leaves, clear sidewalks, and remove debris.

• Assist with park-related projects such as laying sod, re-seeding, and planting flowers and trees.

• Inspect and adjust sprinkler systems as needed.

• Operate various types of handheld and light to heavy-duty equipment including mowers, sweepers, and trucks.

• Lead and manage crews of permanent and seasonal employees, making work assignments and ensuring project completion.

• Train and motivate crew members on maintenance tasks.

• Assist supervisors in determining maintenance schedules for mowing, irrigation, and fertilizing.

• Inspect parks and recreational facilities for preventive maintenance and minor repairs.

• Oversee the mixing and application of fertilizers, herbicides, and other chemicals for turf and landscaped areas.

• Prepare ball fields, parks, and picnic areas for public reservations.

• Inspect and clean areas affected by unauthorized camping.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice-to-haves
• One year of experience in maintenance and landscaping.
