As we continue to grow, Pratt is looking for a Mill Sustainability Manager to help facilitate further sustainable initiatives at our 100% recycled paper mills. This position will focus on improvements and opportunities within the mill system to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and reduce the mill division environmental impacts. This position will require travel to locations in, but not limited to, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Louisiana, and New York. The Mill Sustainability Manager position is a home-based, virtual position outside of the required company travel. Key Responsibilities : Develop and execute comprehensive sustainability strategies specific to mill division operations, aligning with company-wide environmental and sustainability goals. Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies and practices to improve energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction. Lead the development and implementation of a robust sustainability management system. Performance Monitoring & Reporting : Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to energy consumption (e.g., kWh/ton), water usage (e.g., gallons/ton), waste generation (e.g., tons to landfill/ton), and recycled waste (e.g., recycled ton/ton). Prepare and present regular reports on sustainability performance to mill management and corporate sustainability team. Participate in life cycle assessments (LCAs) and other sustainability initiatives for Pratt products to identify improvement opportunities. Compliance & Risk Management : Work with Mill Environmental Managers as an ally in ensuring full compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Conduct regular KPI data & functionality audits and inspections of mill operations to identify potential risks and areas of opportunity. Resource Optimization : Identify and implement opportunities to optimize the use of recycled fiber, minimizing yield loss and maximizing resource recovery. Collaborate with procurement to ensure sustainable sourcing of ancillary materials and chemicals. Investigate and implement beneficial reuse or recycling options for mill by products and waste streams. Project Management : Cooperate with Mill Leadership on sustainability-focused projects from conception to completion. Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, maintenance, and teams. Responsibilities : The Mill Sustainability Manager will work closely with mill personnel and the corporate sustainability team to identity opportunities to enhance sustainability within the mills. Track, monitor, analyze and report on opportunities for improvements. Develop and implement best practices.
