Job Description

The State of California is hiring a PUBLIC UTILITIES REGULATORY ANALYST II for the Climate Change Initiatives Section. This entry-level role involves evaluating utility applications, performing analyses, and participating in hearings and workshops related to energy policy and climate change. Candidates should have experience in data analysis and report writing. The position is permanent, full-time, with telework eligibility for California residents.
About the position

Electricity Planning and Policy is seeking a PURA I or PURA II, to join the Climate Change Initiatives Section team. Under the direction of the Program and Project Supervisor, the incumbent will serve as an entry-level or junior technical and policy analyst. The incumbent will evaluate utility applications and Commission proposals, perform analyses, evaluate models, and provide written or oral presentations and testimonies making recommendations on behalf of the Public Advocates Office. The incumbent will participate in evidentiary hearings before the Commission, workshops, Procurement Review Group meetings, California Independent System Operator and California Air Resources Board proceedings, and other forums. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with members of the Climate Change Initiatives Section team on a variety of energy policy, analytical, and procurement review issues related to climate change policies. The Public Advocates Office provides an exciting and dynamic environment for an entry or junior-level analyst to gain a breadth of experience related to a number of energy policy areas, especially focused on climate change issues at the forefront of today's most pressing energy goals.

Requirements
• Eligibility for PURA I or PURA II classifications.
