Energy 350 is hiring an Energy Efficiency Engineer in Portland, OR, focusing on engaging manufacturers in energy efficiency programs. You’re in the right place! We are hiring an Energy Efficiency Engineer (Energy Trust Customer Outreach Specialist, Engr. II – Sr.) at Energy 350 to serve on our industry and agriculture-focused contract with Energy Trust of Oregon.

Key Details:
• Location: Portland, OR. Relocation assistance is available.
• Travel: Travel to customers, primarily in the Portland Metro area, but also throughout the state; approximately 20% of the time.
• Pay: $80,000-$135,000 annually (Engineer II – Senior Engineer) with opportunities for advancement

• Schedule: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday

Position Overview: The Energy Efficiency Outreach Specialist is responsible for finding and engaging new and dormant customers and facilitating their participation in Energy Trust of Oregon’s Industrial and Agricultural energy efficiency program. This person must have or be able to develop and manage a network of relationships to enable our ability to connect with customers. These networks include regional business associations, contractors, utilities, economic development groups, etc. This is a very entrepreneurial position that includes a lot of creative problem solving, trial and error, collaboration and interaction with stakeholders, customers, and our client.

A typical day may include:
• Identifying non-participating businesses, working to find connections and/or contacts, and reaching out to engage these businesses.
• Administer Energy Trust of Oregon Industrial & Agriculture energy efficiency incentive program.
• Attending, tabling, and/or presenting program resources at events, for local business associations, and other stakeholders.
• Work with contractors to scope energy efficiency projects at customer sites.
• Conduct 1:1 meetings with customers
• Perform energy engineering/energy analysis on industrial systems.
• Conduct data analysis to characterize customer participation and identify gaps.
• Write technical reports for non-technical audiences.
• Propose novel outreach initiatives
• Provide excellent hands-on customer service.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a technical person with a wide range of skills including excellent communication skills and the ability to actively engage the community to help industrial and irrigation contractors participate in energy efficiency incentive programs.

Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience:
• Engineering degree and/or great experience required
• Experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering field
• Experience working in manufacturing
• Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science
• Experience modeling mechanical systems and quantifying annual energy savings
• Excellent data analysis skills
• A high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• A solution-oriented approach to solving problems
• An outgoing person who is excited to make new connections; adaptable to dynamic settings
• Capability of working autonomously with good project & time management skills
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
