Clean Harbors is actively seeking an Outdoor Environmental Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to play a vital role in our mission to manage chemical waste. In this role, you will be tasked with handling, segregating, packing, and inspecting chemical waste in full compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as our company standards. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors at various sites including plants, labs, and customer locations, and requires active engagement with clients as this is a customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to all work practices, policies, and processes.
• Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions.
• Inspect staging, accumulating, and storage areas for proper housekeeping and compliance.
• Check storage areas and drums for leaks or spills.
• Verify that drums comply with labeling regulations.
• Collect, segregate, and package waste chemicals efficiently while ensuring compliance.
• Execute jobs on-site at various customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Prepare and approve all outgoing shipments in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies.
• Conduct projects according to relevant Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Understand specific disposal restrictions and packaging requirements for customers.
• Sample and profile new waste streams or any waste requiring analytical testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Valid Driver's License.
• Obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within six months of employment (company pays for training).
• Complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required for the position.
• Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34.
• Hold a college degree in Chemistry or a Natural Science.
