Job Description
The Oregon League of Conservation Voters is seeking passionate individuals to join its Board of Directors to promote environmental justice and sustainable policies in Oregon. Board members will participate in five annual meetings, mostly held virtually, and are expected to contribute to fundraising efforts. The role emphasizes collaboration and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in advancing the organization's mission.
Join our board of directors!
Are you passionate about creating a sustainable future for all Oregonians? Are you ready to work toward environmental justice? Do you have skills to share with the environmental movement? Are you ready to work with Oregon communities to bring about change? The Oregon League of Conservation Voters is looking for new board members!
The Oregon League of Conservation Voters (OLCV) is the political voice of Oregon's environmental community. OLCV is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that -- along with its sister organizations OLCV Education Fund and OLCV PAC -- passes laws to protect our natural legacy, elects pro-environment candidates, and holds our elected officials accountable. OLCV is committed to creating a culture of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in our organization and outward, and we expect our Board Members will share in our commitment to working on equity and justice.
Oregon’s environment is increasingly threatened, endangering our homes, health, and unique quality of life. By implementing sound environmental policies at the state and local levels, we can safeguard the health of our families and secure the future of our state. Through our leadership, we can demonstrate effective policies to other states and the federal government.
OLCV plays an important role in keeping Oregon green. Our boards work together to guide the organization and ensure fiscal responsibility. We work in all corners of Oregon to ensure equitable environmental outcomes for all Oregonians.
As a strong candidate you will have a passion for advancing pro-environmental policies and climate justice and are ready to collaborate in fundraising efforts.
Join our dynamic board to make a difference together in our world, locally and globally.
Please read the OLCV Board of Directors Job Description to understand the requirements and expectations of a Board Member.
There are five board meetings annually, which are held in the evenings, and board committee meetings occur several times per quarter - typically these are virtual meetings. We expect board members to attend most of these scheduled meetings.
Fundraising is an expectation of board members with multiple ways to support the organization as outlined on this Board Member Fundraising Goal Sheet. The minimum suggested annual fundraising goal is $3,000 per board member. We also recognize that board members contribute their time and talents as a way to ensure the well-being of the organization.
How to apply: We encourage you to fill out our OLCV Board of Directors Application and visit our website www.olcv.org for more information.
