Job Description

OW Ocean Winds is hiring an Operations and Maintenance Technician for the Moray East Offshore Windfarm in Scotland. The role involves supporting the O&M strategy and requires travel to offshore assets. Candidates should have relevant technical training and experience in offshore environments. The position is full-time with varied working hours, including on-call support and weekends. All applicants should meet physical requirements for offshore work and possess necessary certifications.
The Moray East Offshore Windfarm Project is currently in the operational phase of what is one of the largest offshore windfarms in the world, off the Northeast Coast of Scotland. The Technicians will be responsible for providing support in the implementation of the O&M strategy for Moray East Offshore Wind Farm. The role will primarily be based at O&M Centres located in the North-East of Scotland but will also require frequent travel to the offshore assets via Crew Transfer Vessel, and Service Operation Vessel. The working pattern will be a rota system where working hours and times vary. O&M Technicians will provide out of hours on-call support, as part of an emergency response rota or work weekends (when required).

Main Accountabilities

The O&M technician will be responsible for the on-site performance of operation and maintenance activities relating to civil and structural infrastructure (both onshore and offshore), Balance of Plant Electrical equipment, Wind Turbine Generators, quayside facilities, and OFTO assets as required.

Academic Background

• Fully completed apprenticeship in Control Instrumentation, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• Evidence of relevant industry-specific technical training, ideally in an O&M environment within the offshore wind, Oil and Gas, marine or factory processing industries (preferably 3 to 5 years).

• Experienced in troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components.

• Experience of installation and/or commissioning of offshore assets.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of electro-mechanical safety rules systems and WTG safety rules.

Skills

• Hands-on, practical aptitude concerning maintenance activities.

• A team player and calm problem solver, self-motivated and able to work independently.

Other Requirements

• Meet the physical and medical requirements for working offshore, can work at heights and in restricted or confined spaces.

• All current offshore GWO certifications

• BTEC or HNC would be advantageous

• IRATA Level II/III

• IOSH Managing Safely

• Experience as an Authorized Person

• Clean UK driving license
