About the Role:

The University of Bath seeks a highly skilled Research Associate to contribute to its vision of accelerating people-led solutions for the Net Zero transition. This role will involve examining how algorithms and data analysis tools can support the adoption of greener transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on the role of operations research in public transport and algorithmic solutions for Net Zero.
• Work as part of a research team to develop data-driven solutions for sustainable transportation.
• Collaborate with experts to examine the potential of optimisation algorithms and data analysis tools in supporting the transition to greener transportation solutions.
• Analyse existing research and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in transportation systems.

Requirements:
• PhD in operational research and/or transportation, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of optimisation algorithms, including exact and heuristic methods.
• Published research or manuscripts under review in ABS3, ABS4, or ABS4* journals.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: C++, Java, or Python.
