Job Description
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking a full-time Operations Officer for its conservation program in Crawley, WA. The role involves planning and implementing conservation activities, monitoring biodiversity, and liaising with stakeholders. Applicants should have experience in managing conservation programs, strong communication skills, and team leadership abilities. This permanent position offers a salary of $92,098 - $96,660 p.a. plus superannuation.

Job Description
Under the direction of the Regional Leader Conservation:
• Participates in planning and implementing the conservation program within the Greater Brixton Street Wetlands (Kenwick) with a particular emphasis on adaptive management processes and monitoring to increase knowledge and understanding of biodiversity, threatened and Priority species and threatening processes.
• Organises and undertakes the implementation of operations, works programs, activities and projects associated with works to be undertaken on department managed land within the Greater Brixton Street Wetlands (Kenwick).
• Monitors and reports on operations.
• Liaises with community, key stakeholders and community groups in a positive and informed manner.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria, including where possible the desirable criterion. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with managing threatening processes through the preparation and operational implementation of conservation works programs with a preference for experience in a broad range of flora and fauna survey and monitoring techniques.
• Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in liaising with external organisations; including indigenous people, other government agencies, community, and special interest groups, managing contractors and encouraging and managing public participation.
• Experience, knowledge, and skills in leading and managing teams, working effectively as part of a team and independently; showing a high level of self-motivation, and skills in organising and implementing works programs.
• Experience in budget preparation, control and expenditure of allocated work projects.
