About the Role

Toro Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of a leading company in the energy sector. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing plant operations, ensuring optimal performance, and driving compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead and develop the Operations and Fuel Handling teams to achieve high performance and reliability.
• Monitor plant efficiency, taking proactive measures to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Manage and optimize first-line maintenance activities, ensuring all work is recorded within the CMMS system.
• Act as a key member of the site management team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.

Skills and Qualifications
• HND or higher in Engineering, with a strong operational background in power .
• Proven managerial experience within the power sector, preferably in biomass or energy-from-waste (EfW).
• Strong understanding of UK safety legislation, environmental permits, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative working environment.
