JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Operations-Bus stop facilitates bus dispatches according to trip schedules and implements directives from the control Centre with the approval of the Bus Stop Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Inspects buses and counter-signs Pre-Departure Inspection Checklist of Driver & verifies the Driver’s License.

2. Counter signs Bus Drivers Daily Time Record at the start and end of duty.

3. Checks on the Bus Validators if they are functioning properly.

4. Implements dispatch schedule prescribed by Operations Department.

5. Issues Trip Slip to Bus Drivers and ensures timeliness of dispatch of buses in accordance with schedule.

6. Implements or recommends adjustment in dispatch of buses as instructed by Operations Supervisor or the latter’s clearance as the case may be.

7. Announces to passengers (by microphone or orally) every dispatch: the destination (route), bus number and time of departure.

8. Communicates with other dispatchers on status and condition from time to time.

9. Facilitates “bus transfers” when necessary.

10. Receives reports from Bus Drivers regarding condition of bus unit and coordinates with Maintenance Department for inspection and check-up of unit.

11. Answers inquiries of passengers concerning trip schedules, fare, travel time and all other information relative to trips of MyBus.

12. Accomplishes the Dispatcher’s Report Form every departure & arrival of buses and submits said form to Operations Supervisor at the end of the day. (For encoding and review);

13. Reports to Operations Supervisor any unusual incident or accident occurring within the bus station premises or those communicated to him by Bus Driver or Cashier through phone call or text message.

14. Manages the queue line and waiting area/s to ensure smooth flow of passengers.

15. Certifies buses for car barn and may be dispatched for re-fueling.

16. Observes company rules & regulations, safety rules, proper work ethics and behavior at all times.

17. Practices good housekeeping procedure daily on equipment and work area.

18. Ensure exits are not blocked.

19. Channel passenger to bus doors.

20. Assist in emergency situation and report accordingly.

21. Performs other related duties as may be assigned or required by the job from time to time.
