The University of Virginia's Department of Urban and Environmental Planning seeks tenure-track or tenured candidates focusing on sustainable transportation, housing, climate resiliency, and more. The positions aim to enhance research and teaching in accredited undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Urban and Environmental Planning (DUEP) at the University of Virginia School of Architecture seeks tenure-track or tenured candidates whose scholarship and teaching focuses on sustainable transportation; housing and community development; data visualization and communication; climate resiliency and environment; municipal finance and budgeting; land use, law, and zoning; collaboration and engagement; healthy cities; and economic development.

With both undergraduate and graduate programs accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB), these positions will strengthen our current offerings and allow us to develop new areas of expertise. Selected candidates will enhance the excellence of the School through their research, teaching and service.

The Department of Urban and Environmental Planning is home to research and teaching that tackles critical challenges faced by cities and regions across the globe. The School of Architecture includes Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Architectural History, and Urban and Environmental Planning, and emphasizes interdisciplinary, open, ethical research, and education that address the built, social, and environmental societal challenges.
