About the position
Headway Environmental is seeking experienced On-Call Field Biologists/Wetland Delineators to conduct field assessments and surveys related to wetlands, habitats, and wildlife populations. Responsibilities
• Conduct field assessments and surveys to identify and characterize wetlands, habitats, and wildlife populations in accordance with regulatory requirements and project specifications.

• Perform wetland delineations, including field data collection, vegetation assessments, soil sampling, and mapping using GPS and GIS technologies.
,
• Compile and analyze field data to prepare accurate reports, maps, and permit applications for regulatory compliance.
,
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within established timelines and budgets.
,
• Assist in the development and implementation of mitigation plans, habitat restoration projects, and environmental monitoring programs.

• Maintain compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and permits, including the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and National Environmental Policy Act.

• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field.

• 3+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on field biology, wetland delineation, and habitat assessment.

• Proficiency in plant identification, wetland classification, and wildlife survey techniques.

• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.

• Experience using GPS/GIS technology for data collection and mapping.
