Job Description
The Arkansas Department of Transportation is seeking an Office Assistant - Environmental in Little Rock, AR. This role involves routine office tasks such as correspondence, report preparation, record maintenance, and assisting staff with various duties. Candidates should have a high school diploma equivalent and experience in office procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills are required. The position is full-time with a salary of $42,432 per year.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing routine tasks in a Division or Section.
Examples of Work
The following examples are intended only as illustrations of various types of work performed. No attempt is made to be exhaustive. Related, similar, or other logical duties are performed as assigned. The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer.
• Email or mail correspondence, forms, or other documents.
• Prepare various reports.
• Sort and file records, both paper and electronic.
• Answer telephone, convey messages, and run errands.
• Copy and scan documents using office duplicating equipment.
• Compile and maintain records, including entering data into databases.
• Assist office staff in special studies and research.
• Type and edit documents for accuracy and consistency with Department procedures and templates.
• Update templates for formatting and accuracy.
• Facilitate and track draft documents through the review process and provide a weekly recap.
• Assist Environmental Division Staff with travel requests and reimbursements.
• Cover the reception desk, sort and distribute mail occasionally.
Minimum Requirements
Education and experience: The educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school. Experience in office procedures.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Demonstrated typing ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Working knowledge of internet/web-based applications. Detail oriented. Excellent organizational skills. Effective communication skills. Highly motivated and able to prioritize and multitask efficiently. Well-developed sense of urgency and follow-through.
Working conditions: Office environment.
