The Role:

The Ocean Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in the naval architecture design and analysis of OPT products and systems.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design and analysis of OPT’s products that use wave, solar and/or wind power to support ocean-based systems.
• Carry out theoretical hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, and mooring analyses using commercial software.
• Prepare and document design specifications, data collection and analysis.
• Prepare technical reports to document the methodology and results of work performed.
• Assist with departmental documentation and administrative projects.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:
• Junior or Senior status in a 4-year university pursuing an Engineering degree.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with MATLAB and SolidWorks a plus.
• Coursework in naval architecture, ocean engineering or related topics.
• Interest in learning about wave, solar and wind-based energy systems.
• Duration of Internship will be from June 2nd, 2025 - August 8th, 2025*
