We are seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Data Scientist/Engineer to work on innovative 3D/4D Data Visualization solutions for government and private-sector clients. This role offers a flexible hybrid work model, blending collaboration in the office with the flexibility to work from home.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in hydrogeology, environmental science, computer science, or similar fields, with prior experience in environmental consulting. As a key member of Jacobs’ Federal & Environmental (F&E) team, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, technologists, engineers, data scientists, and project managers to deliver transformative technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities In This Role
• Support subsurface technical geospatial data visualization (3D/4D) and data analyses using a variety of software, platforms, and open-source tools.
• Lead the development, implementation, and promotion of 3D/4D Data Visualization solutions within the organization and to external clients.
• Foster cross-domain collaboration with data management, data science, and business units such as environmental, geotechnical, and geospatial teams.
• Deliver impactful presentations to internal project teams and external stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports and ensure clear and concise communication of findings.
• Contribute to the development, incubation, and scaling of new innovative 3D/4D solutions to address client needs.
• Provide mentorship to colleagues by sharing expertise and offering career guidance.
• Investigate, maintain, and enhance existing and emerging tools, platforms, and solutions for 3D/4D data visualization.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote learning across business units and domains.

Here's what you'll need
• Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, environmental science, computer science, or a related field
• 5–8 years of experience in environmental consulting or a similar industry
• Proficiency with geospatial, modeling/visualization, and dashboard/automation tools, such as
• Earth Volumetric Studio, LeapFrog Works, ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience managing large datasets, collaborating across domains, and developing innovative solutions.
• Project/task management experience and a history of mentoring or supervising team members.
• Interest in obtaining professional licensure and certifications.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
• A valid driver’s license.

Ideally, you’ll also have
• Familiarity with environmental workflows, including
• NSZD, SVE, biosparging, MODFLOW, Aqtesolv, MATLAB, or similar tools
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Professional licensure in your state of residence and industry certifications.
• Skills in scripting languages and cloud-based relational databases, such as
• Python, R, SQL, Azure, OpenGround, EQuIS, or similar platforms
• Knowledge of digital tools and field data capture best practices, such as
• Survey123, EQuIS Collect, or drone piloting licensure
• Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour and First Aid/CPR certifications
