SLR International Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer or Scientist to join our busy Connecticut operations. The position will focus on multi-media EHS permitting and compliance including air quality, waste, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous materials, environmental reporting as well as health and safety topics. Preferable candidates have strong relevant academic and employment background, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for environmental, health and safety work.

This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization. The candidate selected for this role must be self-motivated with a desire to foster client relationships through technical excellence. The selected candidate will be under the direct supervision of SLR principal staff.

Job Description Required Technical

Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, biology, geology, chemistry, environmental science or similar
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in EHS consulting and/or industry including 5 or more in the following areas:
• Familiarity with multi-media environmental regulations including CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA and/or TSCA, for example:
• Air permitting and compliance
• Hazardous waste management and compliance
• SWPPP and SPCC plans
• Compliance audits/assessments or environmental document reviews
• Collection of soil, soil vapor, and/or groundwater samples for laboratory analyses
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance assurance
• Development and/or implementation of EHS compliance programs, audits, tools, and calendars
• Experience with project management, including scope/budget development, people management, and project implementation, within budget and timelines
• Excellent written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced consulting firm
• Familiarity and experience working at industrial facilities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travelPreferred Technical
