Are you fascinated by microbiology and eager to apply your skills in a hands-on laboratory environment?

Tentamus Labs of America is looking for a Microbiology Lab Technician to join our team in Irvine, CA, to support critical quality and safety testing. This role offers hands-on experience with microbial analysis, laboratory procedures, and data management in an industry-leading lab. You will be involved in key microbiological testing, including USP 61 & 62 for microbial enumeration and pathogen detection, ensuring the safety and compliance of various products.

How you will contribute as a vital part of our team:

Under the direction of the Microbiology Manager, duties include but are not limited to:
• Prioritize and process samples; Perform media preparation, sample weighing, plating, and counting.
• Perform microbial testing, including USP 61 & 62, for microbial limits and pathogen screening.
• Basic setup, troubleshooting, and routine equipment maintenance; Perform routine checks of instruments such as balances, refrigerators, and incubators
• Receive and log in reagents, along with certificates of analysis and SDSs
• Maintain notebooks and other relevant documentation to GDP (Good Documentation Practices) standards
• Prepare reports and summarize large amounts of data using Excel, instrument software and LIMS.
• Cleaning and sanitizing throughout the Microbiology Laboratory; Properly handling and disposing of laboratory hazardous waste.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of lab supplies; Contribute to improving laboratory efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Execute projects as assigned to meet changing laboratory needs and requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Type & Expected Schedule

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based onsite at Tentamus Labs of America in Irvine, California. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a lunch break included. Weekend and holiday availability may be required as needed.

The training schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at Adamson Analytical Laboratories and may last up to 120 days.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States, indefinitely, without restriction or sponsorship, hold a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science or a related science field preferred; Possess experience with microbiological testing methods, laboratory equipment, and strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Other qualifications include:
• Experience working in a commercial lab setting is preferred
• Knowledge of LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.
• Possess strong attention to detail
• Ability to memorize different testing types, Media, Dilutions, SOPs, etc.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods; to work independently and within a team.
