The postdoctoral research associate will teach two courses per year in environmental and/or medical anthropology, to be cross-listed in the Cogut Institute's Humanities course offerings. The research associate is expected to participate in the Cogut Institute’s weekly Tuesday seminars as well as other activities.
Brown University seeks to recruit and retain a diverse workforce to maintain the excellence of the University, and to offer our students richly varied disciplines, perspectives, viewpoints, and ways of knowing and learning.
Scholars with a PhD in anthropology or a related discipline within the humanities or social sciences will be considered. Ph.D. must be in hand by July 1, 2025 or must have been awarded in the last five years. Recipients of a Ph.D. from Brown University are ineligible. The postdoctoral research associate will be eligible for standard benefits and a $2,000 per year reimbursable research fund. Scholars from outside the United States are appointed under J-1 visas (exchange visitors status) only. This two-year postdoctoral research associate position is not renewable.
The department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
