The Role

Xos is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and efficiency of our mechanical of our mechanical systems. As a Mechanical Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our mechanical vehicle infrastructure by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Responsibilities
• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and hands-on inspection techniques to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Conduct regular inspections, lubrication, and component replacements as needed.
• Assist in the development and execution of preventative maintenance plans for mechanical equipment.
• Identify opportunities for improving performance, efficiency, and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Implement modifications and upgrades to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
• Assist with generating reports documenting maintenance tasks and equipment status.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives and address mechanical-related challenges.
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
• 2+ years of related experience; Associate's Degree or Technical certification highly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a mechanical technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic technical proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
• Ability to follow instructions
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• Must be available to work 1st shift hours
• Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Demands
• Ability to stand, walk, move around for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy components, and working in various positions for extended periods of time (bending, kneeling, and reaching)
• Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50+lbs
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects and tools

Work Environment
• Exposure to noise and varying temperatures typical of a manufacturing setting
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required of company safety policies
