e-Zinc is seeking a Mechanical Technician/Assembler for a 6-month on-site contract in Mississauga, ON. Opportunity
e-Zinc is searching for an experienced and talented General Assembler / Mechanical Technician to work with the Operations Team. This is a contract role for 6 months with the possibility of extension based on business needs. It is a role on-site in our Mississauga location.
Core Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks at one or multiple stations on the final assembly line, following defined procedures and work instructions.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned build tasks according to the daily production schedule.
• Proactively identify and report quality issues, non-conformities, or deviations during the assembly process.
• Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and standards to maintain a safe and hazard-free environment.
• Identify, document, and report quality issues, deviations, or non-conformities during the assembly process.
• Participate actively in FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) meetings to identify and mitigate potential risks in the assembly process.
• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to enhance assembly efficiency, ergonomics, and product quality.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical or process-related problems.
• Maintain proper use, care, and inventory of tools, equipment, and workstations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen events.
• Provide training or guidance to new team members or less-experienced assemblers when required.
Qualifications
Required:
• Hand and power tool experience: Drills, Screwdrivers, Reading – Understanding basic blueprints and drawings
• Manufacturing experience – Mechanical Technician in last year of school
• Comfortable lifting 50lbs
• Must be able to follow instructions and to understand basic mechanical directions regarding assembly and repairs
• Experience in a machine shop
