Position Summary
Cinterra is seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Mechanical Installation Foreman to oversee and manage the installation of solar modules, piles, and racking systems on large utility and commercial projects. As the Solar Mechanical Installation Foreman, you will lead a team of installers, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Your role will involve coordinating and supervising all aspects of the mechanical installation process, including planning, organizing, and monitoring the progress of the installation team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of solar mechanical installers, providing guidance, supervision, and support throughout the installation projects.
• Project Coordination: Organize and coordinate the installation, ensuring timely completion of projects while adhering to project schedules and specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure that all installation activities comply with company safety policies and procedures and industry standards. Conduct morning safety meetings and inspections to promote a safe work environment.
• Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality standards during the installation process, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry and manufacturer requirements.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any installation issues or challenges that arise during the project, collaborating with team members and other stakeholders to find effective solutions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installation activities daily, including site crew assessments, work progress, materials used, and any issues encountered, and report as required by management.
• Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to installation team members, promoting continuous learning and development of technical skills.
Requirements
• At least three years of experience in solar mechanical installation in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating a team.
• OSHA 30 or more and a comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to solar installations, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to identify and resolve installation issues effectively, making sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and prioritize installation projects efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the quality and accuracy of installations.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
• Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
• Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Agility and flexibility to navigate construction sites and access work areas, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels.
• Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
