Owatonna Public Utilities is hiring a Marketing, Digital Media & Conservation Specialist to support marketing initiatives focused on energy conservation and customer programs. Responsibilities include creating digital and print content, assisting with customer inquiries, and event planning. Candidates should have an Associate's degree in a relevant field, with customer service experience preferred. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and remote work options.
Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Executive, Communications & Administration Coordinator this role will support OPU’s marketing and communications initiatives related to energy conservation; electric, water and natural gas safety; and other customer programs. The Marketing, Digital Media & Energy Conservation Specialist will create engaging digital ads, print ads, video content, and social media posts. Additionally, this position will be the subject matter expert for residential energy conservation programs and will assist the customer service department with customer inquiries related to residential energy conservation by creating job aids and/or directly communication with customers. This position will assist in event planning, perform set-up and coordination of the events.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty proficiently . The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for the job. Education: Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism or related field is preferred. Experience: Customer service experience is preferred. Experience in the utility industry is a bonus.
