About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marine Sustainability Specialist to join our team at AIS, LLC. As a key member of our fisheries management program, you will be responsible for collecting and recording data on marine life and ecosystems.

Your primary goal will be to provide quantitative biological information to support sustainable fishing practices. This involves working closely with commercial fishing vessels, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collecting and recording data on fish catch, discard, and incidental takes
• Analyzing and interpreting data to inform fisheries management decisions
• Collaborating with researchers, fishermen, and government officials to develop effective conservation strategies
• Maintaining accurate records of gear types, fishing activities, and marine mammal/sea turtle observations
