Job Description
The Marine Conservation Intern at beBee Careers in Boston, MA, will support educational programs on sustainable fisheries and recreational fishing. The Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support two educational programs relating to seafood and saltwater recreational fishing.
Job Description
• Create engaging content highlighting the importance of sustainable fisheries in Massachusetts.
• Conduct research on the history and significance of commercial fishing in Massachusetts for MA250.
• Assist in developing and delivering educational workshops and outreach events that promote marine sustainability and responsible fishing practices.
• Represent DMF at various educational events, including festivals and fairs, and engage with stakeholders to promote the mission of the organization.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and implementing effective content strategies to promote sustainable seafood practices and recreational fishing as a tool for environmental stewardship.
• Engaging with local stakeholders, including recreational fishers, seafood industry members, environmental groups, and government agencies, to build relationships and promote the mission of the organization.
• Thinking critically and adapting to new challenges while working independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to conduct research with attention to detail.
