Petroplan is seeking a Marine Area Superintendent for an LNG project in Sulphur, Louisiana. The role involves overseeing construction activities, managing site operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with stakeholders. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, strong leadership skills, and relevant qualifications. This is a full-time position based on-site.
Title: Marine Area Superintendent Location: Sulphur, Louisiana Petroplan is working exclusively with a global energy company to staff an exciting LNG production and export terminal mega-project. We are recruiting a top caliber Marine Construction professional for a position, based in Sulphur who meets the following criteria.Position Overview: The Marine Area Superintendent will oversee the construction of the Marine Area at our Louisiana LNG facility. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and directing project construction activities and managing site operations within your assigned area of responsibility and ensure those operations are compliant, safe, on time, and within the scope and budget. Responsibilities:Lead construction activities within the Marine Area of the LNG facility.Ensure that construction work aligns with project schedules, milestones, and design specifications.Manage resource allocation, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, to optimize construction efficiency.Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.Assess and manage changes and modifications within the Marine Area. Manage and direct all area construction activities. Act as primary liaison for area, maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders and functional departments.Serve as the point of contact between the project team and contractor construction team, resolving issues and ensuring smooth project progression.Train staff on document control procedures.?Develop and implement document control procedures.?Monitor and report on document control performance.?Provide guidance to project teams with document control needs.?Resolve document control issues and discrepancies.?Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.Anticipate and mitigate risks that could impact project success.Provide clear and actionable updates to management regarding project progress, challenges, and financial performance.Skills & ExperienceStrong knowledge of construction processes, codes, and industry standards.Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.Ability to identify and resolve construction, safety, and quality issues quickly and effectively.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and coordination with stakeholders.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.In-depth understanding of safety regulations and construction standards.Experience with LNG, power plants, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.Qualifications 10 or more years of experience in major projects within the Oil & Gas IndustryBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related fieldRelevant certification in safety (OSHA, NEBOSH) or construction management (PMP, CCM) a plus
