About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, Sustainability Programs & Project Planning to join our Capital Programs team at NJ TRANSIT. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving sustainability initiatives and shaping the future of transportation in North America.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of sustainability initiatives across various departments, ensuring alignment with the agency's portfolio of projects.
• Manage the annual update of the capital plan, focusing on sustainability projects and maintaining datasets for facility needs, maintenance, and resource trends.
• Develop planning studies, assessments, and other initiatives to support capital planning, project implementation, budget forecasting, and schedule management.
• Direct research and development activities to improve technology acquisition and deployment, strategic funding approaches, and sustainable initiative implementation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability activities within NJ TRANSIT's Capital Programs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in transportation planning or a related field, with a focus on public transportation, infrastructure, or urban design.
• A Master's degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
