As the Manager of Environmental Compliance, you will manage the Supply Chain environmental compliance requirements, including developing, implementing, and managing all environmental compliance programs and initiatives for the organization.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
• Provide technical support and leadership for the environmental compliance program related to the
• Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Emergency Response Planning,
• and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act
• Oversee preparation and submission of environmental reports to federal, state, and local agencies
• Develop and update environmental training modules, policies, procedures, and job aids
• Conduct environmental training via webinar and track site training status
• Review and comment on site-developed environmental compliance work instructions
• Conduct site visits and audits, educate site leaders on environmental compliance requirements and
• implement corrective actions in a timely manner
• Provide coaching and training to site leaders as necessary to achieve a high awareness and understanding of program requirements; ensure content and frequency of training is appropriate
• Independently develop and respond to evolving regulatory requirements by evaluating and integrating
• the requirements to proactively identify actions needed to address any potential risks or impacts on the
• company operations
• Communicate regularly with Operations, Legal, Facilities and Solutions on environmental risk of activities potential or actual violations, audit results and risk mitigation
• Provide insight on environmental governance, risk management and controls to reduce the risk of violations, liaise with external regulatory agencies
• Make environmental decisions on behalf of the organization to avoid violations, penalties and fines
• Provide strategic leadership for developing and deploying environmental compliance and dangerous goods polices and electronic environmental management systems
• Provide advanced and practical application on the use of digital tools and innovation as they relate to proactive environmental risk mitigation
• Develop and managed key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Company Environmental Compliance

• Assist with the review and investigation of incident reports associated with environmental spills and compliance
• Support Company Sustainability Manager in line with Company sustainability initiatives as needed

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental chemistry, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field
• 4 years of experience implementing environmental compliance programs
• Managerial experience in an environment or safety role
• General air permitting knowledge; some knowledge of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to Know Act (Tier 2), Clean Water Act (Stormwater), and Solid and Hazardous Waste regulations
• Ability to review environmental regulations, provide interpretation and translate into actionable terms through policies, procedures, training, and plans
