Job Description

Voltas Limited is seeking a Manager - Sustainability in Mumbai, responsible for managing sustainability reporting and executing related projects. Key responsibilities include leading ESG initiatives, conducting supply chain assessments, overseeing communication on sustainability, and engaging with stakeholders. Candidates should have strong communication skills, strategic thinking ability, and knowledge of ESG frameworks. A Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering and a Master’s in a related field are required, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Role Purpose

The role is responsible for managing all reporting requirements (both internal and external) and executing projects and initiatives related to Sustainability. This includes assisting with Tata Sons' mandates on Net Zero, Circularity, and Biodiversity. Additionally, the role involves conducting supply chain assessments based on ESG criteria and communicating sustainability initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead Sustainability reporting and initiatives/projects, including reports based on internal ESG requirements and external frameworks such as BRSR, GRI, etc.
• Manage initiatives aligned with Project Aalingana (Tata Sons' mandates) focusing on Net Zero, Circularity, and Biodiversity.
• Initiate sustainability projects under Project Aalingana.
• Assist in supply chain assessments to ensure compliance with BRSR and external frameworks like Ecovadis, DJSI. Develop an internal framework to identify high ESG-performing suppliers.
• Oversee all internal and external communications on sustainability, defining and developing a stakeholder-specific communication framework for Voltas.
• Report on ESG using regulatory frameworks like BRSR and global frameworks like GRI.
• Design and execute engagement activities on sustainability, fostering awareness and aligning initiatives with employee volunteering efforts.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to define specific sustainability roles and responsibilities within departments, enhancing awareness and sustainability performance.
• Assist factories in identifying new projects/initiatives for clean energy adoption and the reduction of energy, waste, and water consumption.
• Support sites, factories, and offices in tracking ESG-related indicators monthly, including data for BRSR, GRI, and Tata Sons' requirements.
• Calculate Scope 3 emissions.
• Implement a software tool to monitor and report ESG data, assisting sustainability SPOCs across various locations to input information timely and accurately.
• Identify key ESG risks based on global frameworks.
• Conduct annual reviews of materiality, considering external trends, global reports, industry performance, and regulatory landscapes.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field

Essential Attributes

Minimum 3 years experience in sustainability at project sites.
