Job Description
NV Energy is seeking a Journeyman Lineman for transmission work in Reno, NV. The role involves working on energized circuits of 110KV or greater, including overhead and underground line work. Candidates must have a high school diploma, complete a four-year lineman apprenticeship, and be qualified in various transmission voltages. The position may require significant travel for out-of-town projects and includes benefits like sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
7332 LINEMAN, TRANSMISSION (TRAVELING)
An employee who is qualified by training and on-the-job experience to perform work on energized circuits of 110KV or greater. Must be qualified to perform switching. His background and training must qualify him to perform all duties associated with Lineman work at normal distribution voltages as well as work on 110KV, 230KV, 345KV, or higher transmission line voltages. May be required to spend a significant amount of time on out-of-town projects.

NV Energy is seeking Journeyman Lineman for several of our Northern Nevada locations. As a Journeyman Lineman, you will perform all classes of overhead and underground transmission and distribution line work while working in a crew environment. Candidates, through training and experience, are required to demonstrate their knowledge of underground circuits, substations, and apparatus to test, maintain, and install duct line, cable, conduits, risers, Company-owned customer outdoor lighting equipment, circuit breakers, transformers, and associated equipment, substation equipment, and circuits.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
High School Diploma or GED and completion of a four year Journeyman- Electric Lineman apprentice program through IBEW or DOL
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Experience with Hot Stick and Rubber gloving.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Climbing towers and poles, working outdoors in all weather conditions
Additional Requirements
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant/employee who is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs. Any employment, transfer, or promotion offer made for this position is contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to the commencement of the new role. If an applicant/employee fails the drug test, any offer of employment, transfer, or promotion will be revoked.

Compensation
$71.85 per hour. Potential Safety Bonus 2%. The company reserves the right to determine the number of positions awarded for this requisition.
