Job Description

VirtualVocations is seeking a Legal Specialist for Climate Finance to update legal templates related to climate performance-based financing. Responsibilities include reviewing policy changes, providing legal feedback, and collaborating with internal teams. Candidates should have an advanced degree in Law, at least seven years of relevant experience, and familiarity with legal frameworks in development or environmental sectors. Proficiency in English is required, with additional languages as an asset.
A company is looking for a Legal Specialist, Performance-Based Climate Finance Legal Templates (Home-Based).

Key Responsibilities

Update the Performance Based Payment Agreement (PBPA) and Development Services Agreement (DSA) templates to reflect policy changes and ensure they are suitable for climate performance-based financing

Review proposed policy changes and provide legal feedback, including drafting mark-ups and participating in meetings

Liaise with internal departments to gather input and feedback on templates and policies

Required Qualifications

Advanced university degree (master's) in Law or a bachelor's degree in Law with two additional years of relevant experience

A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience as a lawyer in the development or environmental sectors

Experience in a legal function within a United Nations organization or as a consultant for UN legal support

Proven experience in developing legal agreement templates and knowledge of applicable legal frameworks

Proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Spanish or French is an asset
