Job Description
Goldwind Australia is seeking a Legal Counsel – Property in Sydney, responsible for managing legal advice on property transactions and disputes. The role involves negotiating and drafting agreements, coordinating with external law firms, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Candidates should have a law degree, a current practicing certificate, and over 5 years of relevant experience in property transactions, preferably in the renewable energy sector.

The reason for this role:
The Legal Counsel – Property is accountable to the Deputy Head of Legal Goldwind Australia for the management of the provision of legal, risk and advice, to support Goldwind’s property transactions and portfolio. This also includes the provision of internal advice and managing external firms.
The role will work collaboratively with the wider business to ensure that the operations of Goldwind are conducted within the limits prescribed by law and Goldwind’s rights are protected through the provision of sound legal advice and guidance.
What you will be doing?
• Negotiate, draft, advise on and settle a broad range of property and joint venture transactions for Goldwind’s core development business and service teams growing property requirements.
• Attend contract discussions and negotiations with stakeholders / landowners / customers / suppliers as required.
• Co-ordinate and oversee external law firms providing technical and dispute advice.
• Manage & resolve property disputes with landowners through mediation or litigation.
What does your background look like?
• Degree qualification in Law.
• Current practising certificate in Australia.
• 5 years (+) post-qualification experience in either a private practice or an in-house role.
• Demonstrated legal and commercial experience in managing and negotiating property transactions within the energy and/or infrastructure sector.
• Legal and commercial experience in managing and negotiating property transactions in renewable energy sector, specifically wind farm, BESS and solar development would be highly desired.
