Job Description

The University of Hawaii is seeking a part-time Lecturer in Sustainable Community Food Systems for Spring 2025. The position requires teaching courses online and in person, maintaining office hours, and preparing course materials. Candidates must have a Master's degree and demonstrated teaching effectiveness. Salary Information: Minimum for Academic Year 2024-2025, $1,911 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.Other Conditions: For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Must be available to teach courses online and in person, either during the day, evening, or weekend.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned courses in Sustainable Community Food Systems.Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.Work under supervision of division chair in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in discipline area.As needed, work with multi-media presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in relevant discipline for lecturers in Sustainable Community Food Systems.Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.Desirable QualificationsCollege teaching experience.
