Ghafari Associates is seeking a Lead Sustainability Specialist to oversee sustainable design initiatives and energy analysis for various projects. About the position

The Lead Sustainability Specialist is responsible for leading sustainable design initiatives and coordinating energy and environmental analysis for various projects. This role involves oversight for certifications under sustainability standards such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and Fitwel, while also contributing to marketing efforts and providing a range of sustainable consulting services.

Responsibilities
• Manage sustainable design analysis, conceptual energy modeling, and sustainable consulting services.

• Consult with multiple internal design teams on LEED, WELL, BREEAM, Fitwel, and sustainable projects.

• Assist clients, designers, engineers, and contractors with sustainable design research and implementation.
,
• Collaborate with clients on building and non-building projects, developing sustainable design and operations guidelines, policies, and procedures.
,
• Set goals and benchmark projects under Ghafari's sustainability commitment.
,
• Implement Ghafari's sustainability plan.
,
• Prepare materials for sustainable design awards.
,
• Support sustainable design education and provide mentorship within the organization.
,
• Foster and support a green workplace through sustainable work practices and operations.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, mechanical or environmental engineering, interiors, or sustainable design required; Master's degree preferred.

• 6+ years of experience desirable.
,
• LEED credential required, specialty credential highly desirable.
,
• Proficiency in MS Office and the Adobe Creative Suite.
,
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop, Revit, Sketch-Up, and/or related software.

• Ability to interpret results from energy and environmental performance analysis.
,
• Knowledge of sustainability, building science, integrated design, and 3rd party certification processes.

• Proven presentation and communication skills to both team and client.
,
• Experience managing teams/resources for multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with management of team/resources to undertake multiple projects or facets of various projects.

• Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and information and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
