Lead Maintenance Technician Hourly-Production

Bell Nursery USA LLC is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician in Springfield, OH. The role involves assisting the maintenance manager with tasks related to facility maintenance, including repairs to production equipment and greenhouse structures. Candidates should have knowledge of electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and plumbing repairs, and be able to work extended hours. Training is provided, and bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
At Bell Nursery the Maintenance Technician assists the maintenance manager everyday by completing assigned tasks. The maintenance tech participates in safety initiatives encompassing all facility equipment and processes to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of employees at the site. They will help with overall maintenance, repair, upgrades, and improvements to the facility including repairs to production equipment, greenhouse structures, and general housekeeping of the facility. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot and fix various mechanical, electrical, carpentry and plumbing repairs. Training will be provided for a qualified applicant.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Completes all assigned tasks provided by maintenance manager.
• Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant equipment as assigned by maintenance manager.
• Communicates daily progress to maintenance manager regarding tasks/assignments.

Skills & Competencies:
• General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, carpentry and plumbing.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends regularly and ability to be on call especially during peak season.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to drive maintenance equipment
• - forklifts, bobcats, electric carts (willing to get certifications as needed).
• Ability to use mobile APPS for Communication Confidence ordering parts and the ability to work with 3rd party Vendors and Contractors.

Requirements:
• General knowledge of carpentry, power equipment and hand tools.
• Electrical Experience, Single Phase, 3 phase up to 480 volts, Basic plumbing, Experience working with PVC, and carpentry repairs.
• Ability to effectively use smart phone technology, including use of apps, email, text, etc.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to perform under minimal supervision
• Ability to listen, learn new skills and follow directions.
• Bilingual in Spanish highly desired but not required.
