About the Job:
Kent is excited to welcome an Environmental Impact Assessment Lead to our innovative Environmental Team. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and steering a team of environmental specialists while driving technical excellence in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) within the UK energy sector. This position will report directly to the Market Director Environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the EIA delivery team and various specialist disciplines.
• Ensure quality and technical excellence in all EIAs conducted.
• Conduct consultancy work, particularly in Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Town and Country Planning Acts (TCPAs).
• Provide strategic environmental guidance and advice to clients.
• Lead the authorship, review, and approval of technical reports.
• Mentor and guide junior specialists on projects.
• Prepare cost estimates and bids for new work.
• Manage projects to ensure compliance with scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Develop strong client relationships to enhance business growth.
• Recruit new team members to support market expansion.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in delivering EIAs and related assessments.
• Relevant degree(s) and chartered status with a professional body (e.g., CEnv).
• Experience in the UK energy industry, such as low carbon, offshore wind, or oil and gas.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Exceptional technical report writing and review skills.
• Client-focused with experience in managing commercial challenges.
• Proven track record in leading successful bids and proposals.
• Experience in team management is a plus.

Communication Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capable of engaging with senior management and presenting at conferences.
• Strong bid authoring and team communication skills.
