Job Description
EnSiteUSA is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for Renewables in Houston, TX. The role involves leading a team in designing PV Solar systems and related electrical systems, reviewing designs, and supervising project deliverables. Responsibilities include training personnel, performing design calculations, and coordinating with vendors. Candidates should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and experience in renewable energy. This is an on-site position with occasional travel.

JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Electrical Engineer will lead and train a multi-disciplinary team to meet engineering deliverables as it relates to designing PV Solar systems, Interconnection Stations, AC Collation systems, DC Collection Systems, grounding, Control and Communications. Duties include reviewing and approving design calculations, power system analysis, and supervising work plans and drawing exports from the drafting team to create drawing sets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES OF THE JOB
Supervision and Training of personnel for Electrical System design and associated calculations to produce the following drawings:
Lead and Supervise AC Collection Systems
Lead and Supervise DC Collection Systems
Lead and Supervise Battery and Inverter Systems
Lead and Supervise Grounding Plans
Lead and Supervise Conduit and Cable Routing Plans
Lead and Supervise Conduit and Cable Schedules
Lead and Supervise One-line Drawings
Lead and Supervise Power Distribution Panel Schedules
Coordinate with vendors on design of Control and Communication Systems
Electrical Design for PV Solar and Battery systems
Verify Electrical design & Analysis using ETAP and SKM (or similar)
Experience in system design with interconnection
Supervise, train and Model projects in PVSyst
Analyzing technical feasibility of Designs or Engineering
Verify project Electrical Bill of Materials
Additional Duties:
Outline deliverables and train Electrical Designers by reviewing drawings and verifying compliance to design specifications, industry standards, and regulations and codes.
Prepare specifications of inverters, PV modules, transformers, panel boards, cabling, protection devices, trenching or cable trays, and balance of plant equipment.
Perform design calculations to size: conduits, cable tray, cables, transformers, breakers, panel boards, and UPS systems.
Specify and collaborate with engineering team to optimize system performance utilizing knowledge of electrical engineering principles and renewable energy technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to perform and teach electrical calculations per National Electric Code (NEC).
Experience training and applying National Electric Code (NEC), NESC C2, and IEEE 1547 & 2030.
Skilled in the use of computer equipment, printers, phone systems, and able to quickly develop a proficient working knowledge of the Companys software programs.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures and objectives effectively.
Must be capable of working under pressure as well as organizing and planning efficiently.
Must have effective analytical skills for assessing and evaluating.
Must manage time well and be able to focus on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Must have a current, valid drivers license.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
4 Year B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
E.I.T and P.E. or ability to obtain.
3-5 years leading renewable energy engineering teams
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work is performed in an office environment at normal noise levels.
Occasional travel by car and/or air to job sites or branch offices is required.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, and may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week depending upon workload.
The job requires a regular working presence in the Houston office.
• This position is on-site and located in Houston, Texas. No relocation available at this time.
