Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Architect with a specialization in Sustainable Design to join their acclaimed practice in Columbus, Ohio, US . This senior role requires a passion for environmentally conscious design, innovative material application, and a deep understanding of green building principles. The ideal candidate will lead architectural design from conception through construction, with a strong emphasis on integrating sustainability at every stage. You will guide project teams, collaborate with clients, and champion sustainable practices within the firm. This role involves a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility while fostering essential in-person collaboration. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping beautiful, functional, and environmentally responsible built environments.

Key Responsibilities include:
Lead the design and development of architectural projects with a primary focus on sustainability and green building practices. Develop innovative and integrated design solutions that minimize environmental impact and promote energy efficiency. Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into sustainable architectural designs. Manage project teams, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and designers. Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation using leading CAD and BIM software. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL). Research and specify sustainable materials, systems, and technologies. Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies for new projects. Oversee the construction administration process to ensure designs are implemented according to specifications. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in sustainable architecture and design.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Architecture. Licensed Architect (RA) in Ohio, or ability to obtain licensure. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with a significant portfolio showcasing sustainable projects. LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation is essential. Proficiency in architectural design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp. Strong understanding of sustainable design principles, energy modeling, and building performance analysis. Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience with diverse project types, including commercial, residential, and institutional buildings.
