Michael Page is hiring a Lead for Disaster Risk Reduction in Navi Mumbai, focusing on strategy within a foundation that addresses rural transformation, health, education, and disaster response. Job Description
• Plan and Preparedness - Contingency Plan Disaster
• Disaster Management related IEC materials
• Risk Reduction / Disaster Mitigation Plan available
• Build capacities of NGOs, CBOs, Youths and other key stakeholders on Disaster preparedness / Disaster Mitigation
• Carry out disaster risk assessment Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
• Develop plan for reducing the damage caused by natural hazards such as floods, droughts and cyclones
• Identify vulnerable location and mobilise community in very high and high climate vulnerable districts for programme intervention
• Conduct trainings for community / stakeholder in Disaster preparedness / Disaster Mitigation
• Management with grassroots / community stakeholders for effective implementation of the standard operating procedures based disaster preparedness / disaster mitigation
• Conduct capacity building for selected individuals (volunteers) in the areas of Disaster Risk Reduction
• Build the partnerships with various stakeholders for effective implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction
• Lead and manage RFs Disaster Risk Reduction Team, including staff, budget and assets
• Lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent high quality, safe and large-scale DRR programmes directly and through diverse range of DRR partners in India
• Ensure effective resource planning and full compliance of RFs policies including financial management and reporting standards
• Ensure professional development and talent management of DRR staff

The Successful Applicant
• Graduation / Post Graduation in Climate Change / Environmental Science / Natural Resource Management
• Minimum 10 years of experience in working with Disaster Management Sector (especially in rural areas)
• Experience is working with inter-agency network
• Fair knowledge on development of community based Disaster Risk Reduction / Mitigation plan
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Exposure to community mobilization and social development preparedness programs linked to health and disaster
• Experience in training and use of participatory methodologies
• Experience in conduct base line survey and Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
• Fluency in English, report preparation and presentation skills are essential
• Experience in connect communities and emergency support providers
