evolveEA is headquartered in the East End of Pittsburgh, PA with a presence in Florida, California, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This position is in-person in Pittsburgh with hybrid work arrangements.
About the Position

evolve environment::architecture is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our multidisciplinary Design and Planning Studio to manage landscape design and planning projects, and to collaborate on architecture, urban design, and community planning projects. Landscape design projects range in scale from small to medium size and include public, nonprofit, and private clients. Planning projects include trail system and park system master planning, and open space or ecological evaluation in service to campus or comprehensive planning. This position will make major contributions to the firm’s commitment to shaping inspiring places that are socially equitable, resilient, and environmentally sustainable.

We are seeking a design thinker and design do-er, who is committed to being active in practice, thought leadership, and community advancement.

Design Tasks
• Manage landscape design projects and lead small projects including parks, green infrastructure, streetscapes, landscapes, and outdoor occupancies
• Manage landscape design components of urban design and architecture projects
• Manage landscape planning projects and urban design efforts
• Collaborate on other Design and Planning Studio projects involving the design of the public realm
• Perform GIS and urban analyses for landscape, urban design, and planning projects, including computational workflows
• Manage ecological analyses and design with attention to biotic systems, including work with ecologists, civil engineers, etc.

Delivery and Management Tasks
• Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of architects, landscape architects, engineers, artists, and other specialists
• Prepare and manage design documentation, presentation materials for public and client meetings, and final report content and layouts
• Manage project meetings and day-to-day interactions with project team members, including owners, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Plan and facilitate community engagement, including project goals and design workshops
• Perform or be familiar with 3D model creation and renderings, including the use of computational tools
• Assist with the assessment of potential projects and the creation of proposals and marketing materials
• Perform additional tasks to support project delivery, as deemed necessary by Principals and Associates
Professional Development Tasks
• Achieve or maintain landscape architect license
• Participate and/or lead firm and community volunteer efforts as an ambassador to the profession and firm
• Pursue professional development and learning opportunities
• Take part in, nurture, and lead evolveEA’s office culture
