Expand Energy is seeking a Land Analyst IV in Oklahoma City, OK. This senior role involves providing land analysis and documentation support for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. Responsibilities include training lower-level analysts, collaborating with various departments, process mapping, and recommending improvements to land workflows. The position requires advanced skills in mineral ownership reports, project leadership, and proficiency in Microsoft Access and SQL.

Job Summary

This senior level position is considered a team lead/specialist that provides analysis and prepares Land documentation in order to deliver Land and technical support for Acquisitions and Divestitures, Data Requests, Lease payments, and Joint Ventures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Train lower level analysts on the proper utilization of company tools and systems to gather and analyze applicable data to prepare quality schedules for trades and divestitures
• Collaborate with Land, Legal and A&D to propose amendments to terms of partner agreements; agreement types are including but not limited to CHK’s Joint Venture agreements, Preferred Equity Agreements (PEA’s) and the Founders Well Participation Program agreement (FWPP)
• Engage leadership and stakeholders to obtain support and buy in for changes
• Interview stakeholders and process owners to define processes and subsequently conducts process mapping
• Create process recommendation documents, including presentations, process maps, supporting metrics, business requirements and related impact analyses for basic processes
• Conduct classroom and one-on-one training of the company’s Land E&P systems and procedures
• Make recommendations for tools and software development and improvement
• Make recommendations for improvements to Land process workflows and functions, specifically those surrounding lease data
• Proactively identify and implement quality control (QC) reports for Land
• Make recommendations on adjustments to access levels of E&P Land systems, specifically recommendations to improve SOX control management
• Research vendor background and relationships and make recommendations to management based upon findings whether to contract and/or retain a vendor
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specific Skills
• Advanced ability to explain information located in mineral ownership reports and/or title opinions to lower-level analysts
• Advanced ability to lead projects that ensure CHK systems are updated accordingly as partner activities occur
• Advanced ability to lead projects that include collaboration with Land E&P, Business Unit members, GIS and A&D to identify assets to be included in a potential trade or divesture
• Advanced ability to interpret all portions of transaction agreements
• Advanced utilization of Microsoft Access and SQL to build and generate ad hoc and regularly scheduled reports
• Advanced knowledge of all critical Land systems and their underlying database structures for utilization in Land reporting
• Advanced understanding of applicable GIS layers and data and how the information can be utilized in Land reporting
• Ability to research various issues to identify potential fraudulent activity by vendors; includes aiding with Corporate Security on vendor investigations
• Advanced understanding of Land invoice process workflows and invoice systems functions

Education

Minimum: High school diploma or GED

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Energy Management or MIS

Experience

Minimum: 8 - 12 years related work experience
