Laborer

Waste Connections is hiring a full-time Laborer for their Avenal, CA landfill. Responsibilities include litter picking, traffic management, and site cleanup. The position requires at least 2 years of labor experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Avenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Avenal, CA! This is a full time, long term position with a reputable company.

The schedule will be Monday-Friday 7am-4pm plus some Saturdays (overtime).

Starting pay will be $17-20/hour, depending on experience. The pay range for this job category is $17-20.50/hour.

Responsibilities Include:
• Picking litter
• Spotting/directing trucks
• Tracking weather patterns to be able to set up fencing and wind screens
• Traffic management - moving signs and cones
• Ensuring that all customers are wearing proper PPE
• Cleaning Equipment
• General site cleanup and landscaping
• Driving employees to their work stations on site
• Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Requirements:
• At least 2 years of work experience. Preferably in a labor type position
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• The ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Experience operating equipment is a plus
• Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift
• Mechanical ability is a plus.
