Job Description
Csa Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician - Lighting for its Irvine, CA location. The role involves testing lighting products for compliance, assembling test samples, maintaining equipment, and compiling data into reports. Candidates should have a technical certificate or associate's degree in Engineering Technology, with 1-5 years of relevant experience. Key skills include operating test equipment, problem-solving, and effective communication. Familiarity with Energy Efficiency Verification programs is preferred. This is a full-time position. About the position
The Laboratory Technician - Lighting position at CSA Group involves performing testing on various lighting products to ensure compliance with applicable standards and test methods. The role requires assembling test samples, providing feedback on testing apparatus, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The technician will also compile data, summarize test results, and assist project engineers to enhance customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities • Conducts a wide range of test procedures on lighting equipment to applicable standards and interprets the results. , • Performs tests and calculations, compiles data, and summarizes test results into reports and checklists. , • Verifies calculations are consistent with measurement results. , • Assembles and disassembles test samples and operates laboratory test equipment without supervision. , • Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment, and work area after tests. , • Records discrepancies or characteristics of products during tests and refers them to senior staff. , • Tests according to project engineer requests and provides information about the testing process.
Requirements • Technical Certificate or equivalent education and experience. , • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or 1-5 years of related experience. , • Experience in operating, maintaining, and calibrating test equipment. , • Working knowledge of test methods for lighting performance preferred. , • Working knowledge of Energy Efficiency Verification programs for Lighting Products preferred. , • Excellent research, problem-solving, and project management skills. , • Ability to convey technical information effectively. , • Knowledge of safe practices in a laboratory environment. , • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to teach others.
Nice-to-haves • Experience in project management. , • Familiarity with Energy Efficiency Verification programs for lighting products.
