Job Description
IEH Laboratories is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician in Salinas, CA. Candidates should have a high school diploma (GED) and ideally an associate degree in Biology. Responsibilities include media/sample preparation, testing, data entry, and lab maintenance. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to lift 30lbs. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 hourly, with benefits including medical, dental, and paid time off.
IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician at its facilities in Salinas, CA.
Ideal Candidates Should Possess The Following
• A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
• Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
• Ability to learn new software and various lab equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
• Able to regularly lift 30lbs above waist level
Laboratory Technician duties include media/sample preparation, sample sorting and log-in, performing specific sample testing steps (under supervision), transcribing results, data entry, inventory control, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00 hourly. This is a full-time position eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401(k), health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 6 paid holidays per year.
The schedule for this position is Monday-Saturday (with Sundays off and 1 rotating weekday), from 3:30pm to 12:00am. The laboratory operates 24/7, so candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and potential holidays.
