Job Description

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a Lab Technician in Halifax, NS. Responsibilities include recording samples, performing analyses, calibrating lab equipment, and managing inventory. Key Accountabilities 
• Record Samples on analytical Sheet
• Match up BOLs with samples, record missing information
• Do CODs on all water samples
• Record all BOLs on Scale house computer
• Perform analytical on UOMA samples
• Inventory of Lab reagents and equipment
• Empty COD/Glycol/TKN/TP viles
• Calibrate Lab equipment
• Print out daily weight reports from scale house  

Experience, Qualifications & Education
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Degree or diploma in science or water treatment course
• Minimum 1 year experience in the field
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, word, excel, etc)
• Strong attention to detail
• Previous experience in using fleet maintenance and/or vehicle location (GPS) software is considered an asset.
