Lab Technician

American Castings, LLC is seeking a Lab Technician in Pryor, OK, to operate spectrometers, conduct chemical analyses, and manage lab record keeping. • SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION*

Operate Spectrometer, start-up, standardize and run samples on ARL 3460 and Baird DV6 backup as required. Provide furnace chargebacks for production and for conversion to and from gray iron. Check chemistries on all iron grades to ensure they are within specification. Be able to operate, startup and standardize. Turn and pull all test bars as needed. Inspect and receive steel deliveries as required. Must have thorough understanding of Lab record keeping and reporting requirements, as well as cross training to perform line tech duties as needed. Keep all samples properly marked and correctly placed in rack. Must be able to receive training to perform all sand lab tests and lab tests in the lab. Must be able to receive training to perform all sand lab test in Green Sand, Core Room, No Bake, new sand, etc as needed. Operate mobile equipment when required. This position may be classified as a lead person which will perform job duties as assigned. Keep work area clean and orderly. Know safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety. Report malfunction of equipment to proper authority. Perform other work as instructed by supervisor.
